Michael Brown joined Somerset Capital in June 2000 and possesses 13 years of diverse experience in the equipment leasing industry. Mr. Brown is responsible for the preparation of the company's financial statements, FASB 13 classification for all new lease transactions, maintaining internal controls, as well as managing a staff of sixteen professionals in all aspects of accounting, tax functions, billing, collections and accounts payable. Mr. Brown has spearheaded the implementation and conversion of the organization's accounting systems to the LeasePlus software program to enhance the financial reporting functions of the organization.

A graduate of Iona College, where he attained a Bachelor of Business Administration, Mr. Brown joined Service America Corp in 1988 where he was an Assistant Supervisor in the Vending Division. In 1990, Mr. Brown joined Leasing Technologies International, Inc., an equipment lessor specializing in providing equipment financing to venture capital-backed and emerging growth companies. During Mr. Brown's tenure with LTI he progressed through the accounting/tax department from the position of Staff Accountant to Accounting/Tax Manager to Assistant Controller. Mr. Brown was responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements and internal management reports, supervision of the year-end audit with KPMG, and the preparation of financial covenants for various financial institutions. Mr. Brown was also responsible for all corporate tax compliance and managed a staff of seven professionals. Mr. Brown also converted LTI's accounting system to the LeasePlus software program.

In 1994, Mr. Brown earned a Master of Science degree with a concentration in Taxation from Pace University. In 1995, Mr. Brown became a member of the Institute of Management Accountants.
