Brian K. Stearney
Executive Vice President, Third Party Originations

As a 13 year veteran of the equipment leasing industry, Mr. Stearney joined Somerset in 2008 to manage all facets of the Indirect Originations Group. Building on the foundation that was already in place, Mr. Stearney is responsible for the day to day operations of the indirect group including sales originations, portfolio acquisitions, structuring, pricing, documentation, and funding. Additionally, he has direct responsibility for nearly half of Somerset´s active lease portfolio to help ensure that the company meets and exceeds its projected residuals.

Prior to joining Somerset, Mr. Stearney founded and operated his own equipment finance company for 8 years; actively working with the current Somerset team throughout that tenure by buying and selling both one off transactions and equipment lease portfolios. Prior to that, he had worked for an equipment debt finance company for 5 years. He also served for three years as an officer in the US Navy.

A native of Chicago, Mr. Stearney earned his BS from the University of Illinois, as well as an MBA from DePaul University. He is also a member of the Equipment Lease Finance Association (ELFA) and is currently serving on the board of the Independent Middle Market Business Council for the association.
